Startup Experience Hub – What’s Our Objective?

The Startub Experience Hub, www.worldwidelocalconnect.com was founded by Peter Dragone and Hans van Putten. Peter is known as one of the co-founders of Keurig Inc. and Hans van Putten is known from his days at The Gillette Co.
Both have bundled their 20+ years of corporate, startup and small business experience into a powerful set of skills and tools to take an idea, transition it into a startup, grow the startup into a small business and take that business to the next level, creating the “hockey-stick effect” with outside funding.

Both Peter and Hans have been through the trials and tribulations of all of the above, but in times when there was no Startup Experience Hub online for them to lean on. They have both made many mistakes over the years, some on purpose, others simply through trial and error, finding their way on an entrepreneurial map, sometimes not exactly knowing what the end destination was.

Charting Your Own Path
In the days of Columbus, adventurers did not know where they were going and how they were going to get there. They grabbed a ship and said. “Let’s Go!” They created their own map.
We understand where you are coming from! You have this idea about a product or service and you need a business plan, a marketing plan, maybe even a production plan. On top of that you need an online presence. You are a true entrepreneur and want to do everything yourself. Just because you like doing things yourself, it simply thrills you, or, like us you simply hate paying someone to do it for you where you can do it yourself, maybe even better. We get it!!
But, don’t forget, in the end, the ultimate objective, creating a successful (read profitable) business trumps (no pun intended) everything. You don’t want to get bogged down in detail where you should be spending time on strategic views. You need to look at the map and the (possible) destination first and foremost, and figure out who you want/need on your team, and what travel paraphernalia you need to reach that destination.

Trail Blazing
Downhill skiers, particularly those who ski off the main slopes, in uncharted territories, are trail-blazers, they create their own map, their own route, AND…when they fall (it happens) the great ones get up again and continue their quest, and learn from their mistakes.
If you hate failing, get nervous even thinking about it, stop right there! Either go and do something else, or talk to someone you trust to get you back on track feeling confident in your idea, your product or service, but as importantly yourself. If you are not confident in your ability to go down the proverbial mountain, blazing a new trail, falling, getting up and even when you feel like staying in bed, getting up and carrying the torch, don’t even start! It will cost you too much time, too much money.
But if you feel confident, enthusiastic and passionate about your idea, product or service and yourself, good luck and have fun! Yes have fun, because that will carry you through the tough times.
